This is adapted from an excellent handbook for Spanish I found on the TES. It contains advice on how to organize notes, essay planning, essay questions and specific notes on how to revise for each section of the paper.

er verbs - all you need to know

(8)
This is just a reference sheet which I supply to my year 7 after having introduced -er verbs. It is visually more interesting than most things I found on the net. It also includes my verb flower (an idea I pinched from someone else years ago!). I have large coloured verb flowers stuck on the wall of my classroom.

KS4 French - Environment lesson 2

More on Les Ecogestes. Some reading comprehension on how to help the environment in the home. There is a link to a website with an light-hearted sketch on saving water though imaginary showering. Not to everybody's taste, so I have put the English transcript on a different worksheet. please let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements.

Narrating - perfect & imperfect combined

This is a simple presentation to illustrate narration using the perfect and imperfect tenses. I used it to supplement work from Expo 3 rouge and pupils then went off and created some PowerPoint slides of their own - some highly amusing!

Expo 1 term 1 - Jeopardy

This is a complete game which I edited from a template I found online. There are 5 categories and this is suitable for playing midway through the first term of learning French. The music section does not have the sound files on the actual powerpoint, but they are easy to find online and embed yourself (let me know if you find this difficult). Do leave a review if you find this useful.

Present tense and negative phrases - speaking

(1)
This is a paired speaking activity which I give to pupils once we have covered er verbs and negative sentences from Expo 1. All you need is some post it notes and there is a speaking frame which may be taken away from more able pupils.

These excellent resources come from 1jour1actu.com and are aimed at French pupils from CM1 and CM2. Ideally suited for use with A2 students, they cover the topics of poverty, education (the school day), politics, the freedom of speech and equal rights for girls and boys.
